Cloud Computing
The use of services such as software, database, development platforms, infrastructure (servers, storage and networking) over the internet is said to be cloud computing. The cloud computing offers adjustable resources, rapid innovation, reduces operation costs, runs infrastructure efficiently and increases production significantly.
Based on the development model, the cloud computing is classified as:
Public Cloud: A public cloud is one based on the standard cloud computing model, in which a service provider makes resources, such as virtual machines (VMs), applications or storage, available to the general public over the internet. Public cloud services may be free or offered on a pay-per-usage model.
Private Cloud: Private cloud is a type of cloud computing that delivers similar advantages to public cloud, including scalability and self-service, but through a proprietary architecture. Unlike public clouds, which deliver services to multiple organizations, a private cloud is dedicated to the needs and goals of a single organization.
Hybrid Cloud: Hybrid cloud is a cloud computing environment that uses a mix of on-premises, private cloud and third-party, public cloud services with orchestration between the two platforms. By allowing workloads to move between private and public clouds as computing needs and costs change, hybrid cloud gives businesses greater flexibility and more data deployment options.
Based on the service offered, the cloud computing is as follows:
- Infrastructure as a service
- Database, Information, Process, Application, Integration, Security, Management, Testing-as-a-service
The Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offers servers, virtual machines, storage, networks, operating systems from a cloud provider on a pay as you go basis. The Platform as a service (PaaS) offers environment for developing, testing, delivering and managing software applications. Software as a service (SaaS) is a method where software applications are delivered over the internet on a subscription basis to work with a web browser on a personal computer, tablet or mobile phone.
Cloud computing offers many advantages for many businesses through reducing the cost for infrastructure, cloud computing speed services, increasing the productivity and performance with better security.
